Mackenzie Barber started 2010 off right by becoming a part of the Seventy Seven Salon team. With five years’ experience at a specialized Men’s salon & spa, Mackenzie has mastered her skills in men’s haircuts as well as straight razor shaves, and continues her education, enthusiasm, and expertise in Women’s hair.
Mackenzie, who received her full license at Phagan’s School of Hair Design in 2005, has trained with Nioxin hair care and Marcia Hair Smoothing Treatment. She has flown as far as Chicago to attend hair shows and education classes. She continues her product knowledge with classes around Portland on a regular basis.
Believe it or not, Mackenzie’s good friend and owner of Seventy Seven Salon, Sarah Adams, was her inspiration while they attended beauty school. “I was watching her do a women’s haircut, and the way she spoke with her client and her confidence throughout the service really made me want to push myself and be great at what I love to do.” Five years later they are back working together, making Portlanders clean-cut and gorgeous.
Mackenzie intends on growing professionally with ongoing product knowledge classes, haircutting classes and color-technique classes. Her goal is to become an educator and platform artist in the next few years, in addition to devoting her artistry to her growing clientele at Seventy Seven Salon.

Been having Mackenzie cut my hair for over 2 years now. She is great at getting it right each time. I highly recommend her to anyone that wants a professional yet friendly haircut.

Mackenzie is my favorite hair stylist in Portland! I go to her for all of my cuts and colors and always leave happy and feeling pretty:) She did an amazing treatment on my hair that left it more healthy and shiney than I have ever seen it. Mackenzie has also done my hair for weddings and photoshoots. I usually just sit down in her chair and tell her to do whatever she wants and always love it! Another great thing is that she is so fun to chat with and likes to keep the wine flowing during my visits:) Overall, she is just the best…thanks Kenz!!
