Michael Price, a stylist here at 77 Salon, has been doing hair since the fall of 1996 after returning from a trip to New York where he met several stylists from Bumble and Bumble. During an evening of listening to hairstylist talking shop he was first interested then inspired. Upon finishing school that following summer Michael went to work at Avalon, a prestigious Aveda Concept salon in Dallas, Texas. After mastering the Sassoon classic six hair styles and a year on the floor Michael was promoted to Avalon’s creative and education team. Where he began training other stylist and working in fashion shows in Dallas.
In the summer of 2000 Michael moved to Portland and started working at Stacey Worland salon on NW 23rd. In 2004 Michael joined the Rusk education team and began focusing on Rusk cutting and styling techniques. Michael trained under some the world’s leading hairstylists during that time. He travelled to most of the major cities in the west for hair shows and intense week long training sessions. In 2008 Michael retired from the Rusk education team after breaking his leg in a snowboarding accident and spending five months on crutches.
In 2006 Michael came to work at 77 Salon joining a top notch team of designers. In the summer of 2009 he moved to Entrust to help his friends open their first business. After a year at Entrust Michael decided it was time to get back to the west side where feels more at home in the fashion industry.
